Embarking on an Incredible Mission for Ad Astra

The objective: Develop a stellar international social campaign for one of 2019’s most anticipated films.

We worked closely with Fox Studios to create social content promoting the international release of the sci-fi thriller Ad Astra. To drive global excitement and ticket sales, we highlighted Brad Pitt’s star power, teased the epic cinematic experience, built suspense by playing up the mystery of the plot, and led with emotion.

How did we do it? We crafted eye-catching cinemagraphs, created an engaging quiz delivered via Instagram stories, and developed stunning social cards—all while ensuring that our work needed minimal localization.

Space Like You’ve Never Seen It Before

To showcase the beautiful cinematic experience while teasing the tension of the film, we used subtle motion in our cinemagraphs to draw viewers in.

Exploring a Universe of Possibilities ​

To let fans dive into the film’s world and the challenges that Brad’s character faces, we created an engaging “Would You Rather” quiz delivered via Instagram stories. Each question featured breathtaking visuals along with two intriguing options.

Because we were creating content for an international campaign, we wanted to keep text to a minimum for ease of translation. To do this, we selected visuals from the film that would do most of the talking.
