Crafting Brilliant Experiences That Drew Crowds at SXSW 2019

To help Booz Allen make a splash during Austin’s legendary event, we developed three stand-out experiential activations that captured people’s attention and drove engagement.

(We had big plans for SXSW 2020, but it was cancelled due to the pandemic. However, we can’t wait to build even greater experiences in 2021!)


At SXSW 2019, Booz Allen sought changemakers to join them in discussing ways they could translate bold ideas into mission-driven solutions to create a better tomorrow.

Through our creations of a fun T-shirt screen-printing activation at the Startup Crawl, a gamer’s paradise for a Beat Saber tournament, and a relaxing space that gave visitors the chance to connect and recharge, we highlighted the brand’s “Well, Hello Future” event concept and drove people to make memorable real-world connections with the brand.

Tee Time

To immediately connect with attendees and create brand advocates, we crafted a custom T-shirt screen-printing activation at the Startup Crawl. People could pick between six compelling designs in three branded color schemes, and their custom shirts were printed in front of them in just minutes. Our designs both amplified Booz Allen’s “Well, Hello Future” theme and included some cool Austin flavor.

A Gamer’s Paradise

To draw in future-focused attendees, Booz Allen hosted a Beat Saber tournament during the event. We set the scene with vibrant custom signage and neon lights along with tasty, colorful snacks that kept the players in the zone.

Space to Recharge

Booz Allen wanted to give busy festivalgoers a place to connect and recharge both themselves and their devices. We developed the perfect environment, from the appealing branded signage to the relaxing seating, soothing music, and therapeutic coloring postcards that featured some of the awesome designs used on the T-shirts.
